Children's Size Guide
@Poh - Check out the guidance on the right hand side, Tatami recommends using your child's height to determine the appropriate size.

Answer to:
I'm about 5'8, 195 lbs muscular build so it looks like I fall somewhere between the A2 and the A3.... . . .
Your height is A2 but your weight is A3 so the A2 would be uncomfortably tight. While the A3 might be a bit long before washing, it is overall a much better choice.

Answer to:
hello, I am 5'9, 135-140lb. Which size would you recommend?
Hi George,
The A1 is best for your weight, but may be a bit short. So I would recommend going with the A2, which will better suit your height but since the weight range is above yours, it'll be a bit loose to start. You may try putting it in the dryer on Low Heat for 15 minute intervals in order to get the desired fit.
Thanks!

Comment on:
Re: lapel, does it not make it harder for people to keep the grip? I find it more difficult to break grips on my old worn-in Shoyoroll, which has a soft collar, since people grab it and curl it into a nice handle. Where as the stiffer collar is easier to break their grip from.
The thick collar might make it easier to grab, but harder to *keep* the grip (because it's easier for the Gi wearer to break their grip away).

Hi Tess,
Like you said, the A1 may have a more tailored fit around your torso/shoulders, but the sleeves will likely be too short. Have you tried putting your A2 in the dryer on Low Heat after washing? I recommend using 15 minute intervals to get you toward a slightly smaller, more desired fit.

Answer to:
How much will this shrink? I am 6'3"-6'4" at 210 and I see there is not an A3L available.
Hi Tivo,
The Tau is made with a very soft Gold Weave, which are generally more susceptible to shrinkage than, for example, 93 Brand's Goose (which barely shrinks at all).
For those who don't wish to shrink the Gi, washing cold and hang drying will result in minimal shrinkage. But if you want to shrink to fit, then I suggest washing cold and putting it in the dryer on Low-Medium Heat for 15 minute intervals. That way you can check in on the size without over-shrinking.

Answer to:
So, should a woman 5'10 buy a small or a medium?
It depends on the weight. Small would be rather short on anyone at 5'10" regardless of gender.
The choice would be either Medium or Large depending on the weight. Speaking generally, a thin/narrow build would mean Medium, while an athletic or broad frame would more likely be a Large.

Answer to:
I'm at the upper limit for an A2 (5'8", 185lbs). However, I'm a weightlifter and my shoulders/arms are much larger . . .
Mix and match is not available for this Gi, so A3s top A2 bottom is not an option. However an A3S may work for you, as long as you like the fit of the pants. It's difficult to say without trying it on, but you can give either an A2 or A3S a try and if you don't like the fit, it can be exchanged for free (returns are prepaid both ways).

Andrew - The Tau will shrink more than the Goose (which is relatively shrink-proof).
Some things to note about BJJ weaves: Gold Weave fabric is more susceptible to shrinkage than Pearl or other weaves. Especially softer Gold Weaves and especially white ones (all white Gis shrink more than their colored counterparts).

The Hooks will shrink a little bit, not extraordinary but definitely more shrinkage compared to the Goose which is about as close to unshrinkable at it gets :)
If washed cold and hang dried, shrinkage will be average.

Answer to:
I'm 5'10 200lbs waist 32-33ish what size should i order?
Zog,
It can vary due to different types of builds (some carry more of their 200 lbs in their legs/rear while others carry it in broad shoulders/arms/chest), but I think it's safe to say an XL is the best choice.
32-33" is a relatively narrow waist for someone 5'10" and 200 lbs, but assuming your legs are thicker, XL is the best choice.

Answer to:
does anyone know if this gi is ibjjf approved?? i would love to get it to texas before the houston . . .
I believe so, however to be totally sure you'd have to ask the IBJJF. If you email them through their site with a link to this Gi, they are usually pretty quick with any Gi regulation inquiries.
For the approval of any training gear, it's always best to contact the governing body since they have the most up-to-date information on regulation changes, etc.

Answer to:
im 5"8 185 what size should i get large or extra large?
Tough call, it depends on where you carry your weight. 5'8" could mean a medium or large depending on whether you're more top heavy or bottom heavy. Manto rashguards tend to run larger than your standard compression fit, so an XL would be too big at 5'8".
If you're a bigger guy up top (chest, back, arms) - Large
If you hit the leg press more than you hit the bench press, then Medium would work. Manto's have a nice stretch to them and many people end up going a size down from their normal choice.

Since it's time for me to ditch the 1970s Lee Marvin-esque judo gi that weighs 800 pounds and acts like . . .
Howdy,
While your height is better suited for an A3, that would most likely be uncomfortable around your torso.
I'd say A4 is a better choice, since it will give you room to move freely, however the sleeves and pants will be too long right out of the bag. But that can be solved by having them taken in a bit - as opposed to buying an A3 and having it be too tight; a tailor can't fix that :)

A1 is the best choice for you, though you may need to shrink-to-fit a tiny bit. I recommend washing cold and then if the initial shrinkage isn't enough, toss it in the dryer for 10 minute intervals, checking the size in between so you dont overshrink it.

Hi Michael,
The A2XL is like a longer version of the A2L, while the A3S is more in line with what you'd need. If you're around 200 lbs and 5'6-5'7" then A3S is my recommendation.

Answer to:
im 6'7" and 190 do i get an a4? please help
Tslim, the A4 will be far too short for someone 6'7". Since you are very tall and slim, standard Gi sizes will either be long enough but too baggy, or they'll be fitted and too short. Your best best is to go for some of the more customized sizes like A3L by 93 Brand, which is meant for someone with the weight of an A3 but a much longer physique.
I recommend the 93 Brand Charlie A3L if you are in the market for a black Gi that will best suit your frame.

Answer to:
I'm 5"11, 220. What would be a good size?
mk, it's best to compare your leg and waist measurements to the chart on this page.
I'd recommend an XL pair most likely.
Since your height/weight don't necessarily indicate which size you'd wear (someone might be the same height and weight as you, but with skinny legs so they need a Large or thick legs so they need an XL), the measurements will make the decision more precise.

Answer to:
Hi there, I'm around 5'7 and weigh in at around 170lbs. Would you recommend I get the A1?
A1 could work, but since you're just a hair outside of the weight range, it might be a tad too snug. No worries though, if it's too small after washing, you can still exchange it through RollMore within 60 days :)

Hi Jr,

A2 is good for your height, but your weight is an A3 so A2 might be too snug.
Although A3 is intended for someone a bit taller, but it's usually better to go with the bigger of the two sizes.

Thanks
A3L is designed for someone 6'2"-6'5" so it will be much too long.
A2H however, is designed for someone 5'8"-6'0", 210-240 lbs, which is perfect for you.

A3L will be a bit loose at first, but given your height to weight ratio, it's the best choice.

Answer to:
5'9 and 190lbs A2 or A2H?
Your weight is a tiny bit high for A2, but much too low for an A2H. Go for the A2, it should fit well as long as you stay at or below 190 and always wash cold/hang dry.

It'll be close due to your weight, but worth a try. If it's too snug, you know you can return it to us :) Personally, I'd give it a shot!
At 5'8", the A2 will possibly be a bit long depending on how long your arms are.

So I am 6' and I bought an A3 Gameness Air and after 2 washes it was waaaay too short . . .
A2 is good for your height, but might run a big snug after some washes.
I'm 6'2" 180 lbs and the A2 got too small over time, so I'd suggest an A3. After a few washes it should shrink down to a great fit.

A2L would be a perfect fit!
And the embroidery would be just to the inside of the position/submission, but since this is one of the few Gis with an embroidery already there... we could make an exception and put the embroidery on the other side. If you decide to place an order, shoot us an email with your order number and specify where you'd like it.

As long as you *always* cold wash and hang dry, then yes I think A0 will work. I have 2 teammates who are 5'4" and 5'5" and 135 lbs, their A0 works great and they follow the cold/hang dry method.

My son is 12 years old, 5'7" and about 180 lbs. A3 and stick it in the dryer or A2? . . .
Yes, A3 is better since the A2 might be too snug for his weight. A3 will be too long straight out of the bag, but a round or two in the wash and Medium Heat in the dryer should set it straight. Belt: A3 should be fine.

Comment on:
Hi Martin,
When RollMore accepts a Gi back after wearing/washing, we would never ever re-sell it as new! The whole point of this return policy is to make sure our customers receive the Gi they want, brand new, in the size that works for them. When a Gi is purchased, worn, and returned, we take a loss on the item or sell it on the 2nd hand market, as Used.
Your Gi should arrive in pristine condition. That's not to say that sometimes we may receive a Gi from a factory which could have a mark or stain on it, that does happen in any industry as the fabric could be stained during or prior to assembly.
Drop us a line if you haven't already resolved this with a customer service rep :)
Thanks!

@Caleb, the Estilo 4.0 is no more. Tatami has put out the Estilo 5.0 (which we will be receiving in a week or so) so they no longer produce the previous models.
That is why any stores that carry them are not getting restocks (such as our listing, which currently only shows A4).

Answer to:
I only have two gis so this qustion might sound odd. But what is the difference between gold weave and . . .
Hi Joe,
Pearl weave is a 'tighter' weave, while Gold is softer and more relaxed, if that makes sense. The 'tightly' woven Pearl surface means it is usually less soft to the touch than the wider notches on a Gold weave.
The Scramble cut is similar to 93 Brand, perhaps a little more fitted.
Thanks!

Hi Isaiah,
These definitely run on the tighter side so if you're between Small and Medium you should go for the Medium. My apologies on the measurements, warehouse must not have gotten our request for dimensions. Are you looking more for length measurements or is it the width/girth you're concerned about?

A2H should work for you, as the alternative would be an A4 and that is would be a bit long for you. If the A2H is too snug for your taste, you can always return (even if you train in it and wash it) within 60 days :)

Comment on:
A3 would get you the proper length, just might need a bit of shrinkage to accommodate your weight (as your weight is more of an A2). My advice is to pick up an A3, wash it warm and inside out (to preserve color) and then dry on 15 min intervals until it's where you like it.
Take care!

Pretty standard, perhaps considered very slightly fitted/athletic.

Comment on:
Size A2 is ideal for 5'7" however it is not intended for someone 190 lbs, so A3 is a safer bet. Though A3 is intended for someone a bit taller, it's better to have a slightly longer Gi rather than a Gi that's too tight on you. A3 would need to be hot washed and dried with heat in order to shrink it down some.

Answer to:
I'm about 5'7" and 146lbs...should I go with A2 or A3?
Size A2 should be best, so long as you cold wash and hang dry (using heat will likely leave you with a Gi that's too short).

Sorry about that, Tatami updated the Gi to have blue stitching but there is still an old pic showing at the end there, I'll have it adjusted right away. Thanks for catching that :)

Answer to:
5'11" 185ish lbs. Should I go with the A2L or A3?
You can rock the A3 if you plan on washing warm and/or drying with heat... but if you're planning to follow the manufacturer's of Cold Wash/Hang dry then you actually wear the A2.
I'm a couple inches taller than you and also 185 lbs. & I wear the A2 Zodiac personally, though I am a fan of the more tailored and fitted Gi :)

Answer to:
I am 5'7" and 140lbs. Which size should I go, A1 or A1L?
A1L will be too long, you should definitely go for the A1 if you like a standard type of fit... or if you prefer a more tailored cut, then the A1F (A1-Fitted) is the way to go (just be sure you cold wash/hang dry in that case).
Thanks!

My son is 4 years old, 44 inches tall and about 50lbs. What size would you recommend?
You would need the smallest size and may need to shrink it down a bit as they are a little smaller than the intended child's size. Good news is they'd grow into it :)

Answer to:
I'm 5' 9" and 195 lbs, mostly thighs and shoulders. 30" inseam. I cold water wash and high heat tumble . . .
Tough call as your height is an A2 but your weight is just out of A2 range (A2H is for someone a bit more broad/heavy).
Personally I would recommend picking up the A2 and sticking to a cold wash/hang dry method. That should keep it just right. Regularly tumble drying on high heat is not recommended by the manufacturer. If you plan to use High Heat anyway, then A2 will end up shrinking too much for someone 195 lbs. In that case it'd be better to get an A2H or A3 and allow it to shrink, though the A2H is for someone heavier and A3 is for someone taller, so it wouldn't be an ideal fit. For this reason it is much better to go for an A2 and stick to the manufacturer's instructions of cold wash/hang dry.

Answer to:
What is the diferrence between this gi and the hooks style gi?
They are the same cut and same jacket material, same number of drawstring loops and same round drawstring, same full-length knee reinforcements, but here are some differences:
-10oz Soft Twill Pants (Hooks = 8oz Twill)
-Collar width (Hooks has a thicker/wider collar)
-Collar is wrapped in 10oz Soft Twill (Hooks is wrapped in 8oz Twill)
-No embroideries or exterior patches (Hooks has embroidered right arm, woven patch at left hip)
-No contrast stitching or trim (Hooks has contrast stitching and trim in select areas)

@Clay, yes 93 Brand manufactures A2H for all of their Gis. If you're not seeing it on the drop-down tab here, it's because it's temporarily sold out and awaiting restock.

Hi Kev,
Check out the size chart for your specific size recommendation, but the cut itself is rather fitted. By that I mean more modern, tapered sleeve cuffs, pant opening, and jacket skirt length.

If you're 5'0" then A0 will work, just might need a warm wash and/or a Medium Heat cycle to shrink-to-fit.

Hi Lillian,
The A0 would be a great fit! It should fit well right out of the bag, so you can cold wash and hang dry as recommended by the manufacturer's instructions. But if you find it a bit loose, then you can wash it warm once and then use 10 min. intervals in the dryer until you shrink to fit :)

A2H is a better choice, it'll be a better length than the A3.

This is indeed the same Gi. Fuji gives their "7000" series a few names, including the All Around and the Victory.
The only differences between the white, royal blue, navy blue, and black Victory/All Around Gis is the color combinations. Fabric, cut, feel, it's all the same.

So how would this compare to the Fuji AllAround/Victory? Same price for either. Anyone have experiences with both? Thanks in . . .
Fuji is a little heavier and more of a standard cut.
The Ground Game has a more modern/tailored cut and has more design accents (contrast stitching and trim, more embroideries and woven patches, etc).
Fuji has a flat traditional drawstring, Ground Game has a thick round cord style drawstring.

Hey Bub...
This is the Fuji Victory! Fuji uses a few names for this model:
Victory = All Around = #7000 Series
So, yes, the only difference is the fabric color and logo colors.
This is the newest iteration of the #7000 Series, with the fabric/cut/feel/collar/reinforcements/drawstrings all the same as the other colors throughout the Victory/All Around series.
And you are correct, there's no white belt included with this Gi.

@GL You must have gotten a mis-labeled Gi top. There is no way an A1F should be big, at all, on someone 5'5" and 140 lbs.
My teammate is 5'6" and 135 lbs and his A1F fits like a glove.
Please exchange the Gi (using your free return label and free shipping) for another A1F and I'm sure it will work.
From time to time a factory is bound to put the wrong label on a Gi, sorry to hear that it happened with yours!
To be fair the A1F is simply a way to accommodate different body types, something that Fuji does not have, so I don't think 93 Brand is going for a gimmick. Rather, simply trying to accommodate more grappler's body types :)

Answer to:
Yep, I notice it is there now. Would these be too heavy to wear like a rash guard under gi . . .
Definitely!
This sort of sturdier dual-layer compression gear is great for under the Gi pants. Personally I like the added protection and stronger fabrics than the thinner compression shorts. Holds everything in place more securely.

Answer to:
VERY PUZZLED, maybe someone can help me out.
Out of the bag this gi was amazingly soft, loved it, . . .
Gis tend to roughen up after washing. Extra rinse helps, but the best method for maintaining softness is... Once the Gi is dry, put it in the dryer with a couple of Dryer Sheets and throw it for a 30 min cycle on No Heat (aka Air Dry or Air Fluff). Personally I use a couple tennis balls to beat the Gi around if it's too rough.

Answer to:
This is very similar to a previously answered question, but I just want to double check. I'm 6'2", 220 lbs, . . .
A3 should be fine in length, 6'2" will not require A3L. I'm 6'2" (180 lbs) and I wear the A2L, so A3L is overkill :)
The patch will negate the return policy.

Answer to:
Hi,
I'm 6'6" and 200LBs. Is the A3 slim the right size for me? I have tried . . .
Going to be a close call due to your height, but I say go for it. I'm an inch out of the A2 Tall/Slim range, but it still fits me well.
As long as you buy from us, there's no risk anyway :) Even if it fits at first and then shrinks to become too short, you can return it to us at no charge to yourself (within 60 days of purchase).

Answer to:
I'm ready to get this awesome gi, softest ever. I'm 5'10, 155 and cold wash and dry all my gis. . . .
A2L will be totally fine if you plan on putting it in the dryer. Personally I recommend hang drying, as that is the manufacturer's instructions, but drying will not destroy the Gi.
(most vendors advise against machine drying because it can cause higher rates of shrinkage throughout the Gi). If you machine dry in order to keep your Gis soft, that's definitely not necessary with the Tau. I own the Tau and I hang dry, then once it's dry I put it in the machine on Air Dry (no heat at all) for about 30 minutes, along with a fabric softener sheet, and it comes out incredibly soft. Highly recommend this process!

Hi I am 5'8 and about 170 pounds, which gi size do you think would fit best? Also quite busty! . . .
I would say w2 and cold wash / hang dry, unless you are busty enough to affect how the jacket closes, in which case you should bump up to W3 and wash warm (it'll shrink down nicely).
:)

I have a 93 brand goose Gi in A3, and recently i bought a 93 brand standard issue Gi in . . .
It'll shrink more than the Goose, for sure. So if you use a warm wash and then 15min intervals in the dryer, it'll shrink to fit:)

Youre right on the border, so it depends on whether you like a tailored fit or a loose fit... you can either go for an A2 and always cold wash / hang dry, OR go for the A3 and wash warm / heat dry :)

You are just a tiny bit above the A2 range, but below the A2H range as that is intended for someone heavier than you (A3 would be too long in the sleeves and pants). But if you have exceptionally wide/broad back and shoulders, an A2H may be just what you need. I'd say that is your best shot!

Is there a size chart????. The jacket is smaller at the waist, but what about large chested women? Is there . . .
Hi CJ, sorry about that, there was an issue with the size chart on this particular item. Refresh your page and you will see the button for Size Chart below the size options :)
For large chested women, the Gi top should still accommodate though it'll be harder to close. We have a paid return and exchange feature, so if you find the size indicated via the chart is too snug around your chest, you can always bump up one size at no cost to you.

Yes, just make sure you always cold wash and hang dry, as your weight is technically a few pounds over the A2 limit (dont want to risk excessive shrinking).

At your height/weight, Fuji won't give you the tailored fit that you want. I am tall and lanky and Fuji is unfortunately not meant for us :( You want a "Tall" or "Long" size, like the 93 Brand A1L size.

Bigger sizes are all restocked now :) You should get the A4 and shrink as needed. 93 brand runs bigger than Fuji.

A2L will do the trick for sure. Even A2 could work. A3 will be too big.

Answer to:
I'm 5'11" and 195 lbs. (but losing weight). A2 or A2L? I'm concerned about the shrinkage of the A2.
A2 should be perfect.

Answer to:
6'1" - 165lbs. I ordered a A2L, washed it warm and it felt fairly close to where I wanted it . . .
Whenever an all-cotton garment is shrunk deliberatly via heat/hot water, it will have some leeway to it once it's wet again. To avoid this, it's best to get the size that fits out of the bag rather than requires decent shrinkage. For your height, the A2 would suffice. I am just over 6'1" and I wear 93brand A2 with a cold wash and hang dry :)

Answer to:
I'm 5'7" 175. What size? Is there any shrinkage etc. or can I shrink it? Thanks
A2 and it should fit well after a wash or two. There will be appropriate shrinkage if you tumble dry on Low Heat.

I was wondering what size to get an a2L or a3. I always wash my gi in hot water. I'm . . .
A2L is better than A3. Honestly, if you pick up the A2 and cold wash/hang dry, it'll fit like a glove!

Answer to:
I'm 6'-2", 235 pounds. Little flabby right now, will tighten up as training intensifies. Currently wear a Ronin brand fitted . . .
A3 should do you fine as long as you cold wash and hang dry. Especially if you are trimming down as you train more.

A1 with a cold wash and hang dry will be best out of all the standard sizes.
Since your weight is technically A3 and your height is technically A1, it's tough to choose whether you want a lil extra length or a lil extra girth. The ideal fit would come from an A2 with tailored sleeve/pant lengths.

Comment on:
A3 will be rather baggy, but A2 would be way too short. Honestly you are better off with a Gi that comes in size A2L, such as the 93brand Hooks 2.0 (same price, more size options).

5'11" 245 lbs with wide shoulders and thick build. Outta shape right now so got a gut....What size do you . . .
A4 would be great, as long as your gut isn't especially big. A5 would be too long.

The A2 is good for ya, you'll just need to shrink it down to fit. For future batches, the A0H is a solid cut for you.
